Financial Education through Balance Pro

IEG FCU has joined up with Balance to provide free, yes FREE, Credit and Debt Counseling. Services are available on line and on the phone, speaking in confidence with professional financial counselors.

Balance provides you with on line financial education. It’s all FREE.

Here’s what is available on-line:

  • Check Book Balancing Education – Follow the link to the on-line course on how to take care of your checking account. When you finish the course and pass the test, the results will be sent direct to us at IEG FCU. This may entitle you to additional account benefits or re-activation of checking or debit card privileges.
  • Publications – Follow this link to a list of great handouts that cover topics in money management, troubles with debts, mortgages, housing, credit scores and lots more.
  • Podcasts – Great podcasts you can download to your MP3 player, or just listen to on-line. Topics cover money management, financing college education, financing a car, the high cost of financial services and lots more.
  • Newsletters – Keep current with recent newsletters discussing financial services and financial education.
  • Calculators – Have you asked how much will it cost to buy a car or a home? What will my payments be? How much do I need to retire? How much should I invest? There are many other questions you have where a simple calculation will give you the information you need to make a decision. Click here and you will be taken to a list of some of the best calculators available to consumers.
  • Checklists – Need a guide or ideas on what to think about when you rent a home, buy a car or a goal chart for children. There is a whole bunch of useful checklists for you to use.
  • Resources - Balance lists national resources you can use for consumer information about financial matters and about life in general. Check them out.

When the clocks changes on the mainland in the fall (for the winter, it’s one hour later).
